Travel Essentials for Black Friday

I skimmed my Amazon purchases from the last couple years and pulled out all the items I love that are currently on sale! I actually own all of these things, bought them with my own money, and would do it again.

All links are affiliate links and I’ll get a small commission if you buy something.

Apple AirPods Pro

I’m really starting to think I’m one of those people who would buy a pair of AirPods from the vending machine if I got to the airport and realized I didn’t have them with me. The noise cancelation is amazing and they don’t impede you from getting comfortable unlike bulky over-ear headphones. I never found Apple’s free earbuds to be comfortable but have had no issues with these.

AirFly Duo, Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter

There are few things worse than wanting to use the seatback entertainment system on your flight and either not having compatible headphones or having to use the cheap ones provided by the airline. AirFly connects to your AirPods or any bluetooth-enabled headphones so you can stream free movies to your preferred headphones. It’s magic at 30k feet.

3-in-1 Foldable Magnetic Wireless Charger Dock

This lives in my travel bag and eliminates the need for so many cords and adapters. Charge your phone, Apple Watch, and AirPods all at once, or unfold just one third of the dock to charge a device via USB on the go.

40 inch Extendable Selfie Stick Tripod

I’ve used this on every trip I’ve taken since going to Hawaii last November and I still haven’t had to charge the Bluetooth remote (Note to self…I should do that) and I haven’t dropped my phone off a mountain yet. I’ve rarely used it fully extended but love that it can function as a shorter grip and at multiple angles.

MagSafe Phone Grip Stand with Silicone Finger Strap

I’m a full MagSafe convert and don’t always love the bulk a PopSocket adds, but this one is very compact. Bonus: you don’t have to remove it to charge your phone! It also comes with extra silicone straps for when it inevitably wears out.

JBL Clip 4: Portable Speaker with Bluetooth

We use this daily at home while working in the yard or walking Dexter but it’s also great to slip into a bag for travel! And if Kevin, who’s very picky about his speakers, likes it, I know the audio quality is good. Just please don’t be the guy who’s blasting music on the trail…

Type G Power Adapter with 3 AC Outlets and 3 USB

This is the only adapter I used to simultaneously charge my many, many devices on my trip to Hong Kong last week. Worked great, no notes!

Portable Travel Pill Case

This kept all my OTC essentials for two weeks (cough drops! ibuprofen! tums!) organized on our road trip without having to carry a half dozen bottles. Bonus: I got to use my label maker to make stickers for each compartment.

Dreamegg White Noise Machine

We used this to block out hallway noise in the many hotels we stayed in on our cross country road trip and help Dexter (and us) get some rest after long days in the car. The hanger at the top fits perfectly over the door handle lever.

Cascade Mountain Tech Lightweight Aircraft-Grade Aluminum Trekking Poles

I’d never used trekking poles before our hike into the Grand Canyon and now I can’t imagine hiking without them. The cork grip was super comfortable and stopped my hands from getting sweaty, and they felt super sturdy. The poles are great to improve your balance and also take the stress off your quads on inclines!

Amazon Essentials Women’s Short-Sleeve Scoop Neck Swing Dress

I have this swing dress in several colors and don’t just wear it for travel. It packs really well and never comes out of my suitcase wrinkled, and is easy to dress up or down.

Amazon Essentials Women’s Surplice Dress

I’m literally wearing this dress in photos at Hong Kong Disneyland last week, and there’s another pic in my feed from Walt Disney World in 2021 wearing it in a different pattern. It travels like a dream, is super comfortable, and you won’t flash anyone unless you get it caught on a turnstile going into Hyperspace Mountain…

Jockey Women’s Shapewear Skimmies Slipshort

Which is why I always wear these. And to stop chafing. I’ve tried a few other brands but these are the MVP.

Women’s Casual Loose Wide Leg Cozy Pants

The best pants to wear on a long flight. Period. Secure waist but loose fit overall, breezy but will keep you warm on the plane, and you can easily hike the legs up to get some air if you’re overheated. I’d get another pair but these are still in perfect condition after buying them in July 2022.
